Noise survey results

Here are the results of our noise survey, the quietest place is outside Mr Owen's office. The hall and the playground are the loudest places during lunch time.

Well done St Bernadette's!

I mentioned previously in the Improving the Environment post that if the class manage to get our noise meter down to a level one (no noise at all) then the whole class will receive a merit; congratulations- this was achieved on Friday! Let's see how many more times we can do it this week.

Improving the Environment

Today we began our new Geography topic- Improving the Environment.

We started off by conducting a survey of some of the classes in our school, asking them about noise pollution in the school. Children have also chosen locations and different times of the day to rate the level of noise on a scale of 1-5 (1 the quietest and 5 the loudest). We will share the results with you after we have collected enough data.

We are also going to have a noise meter in our classroom to measure the level of noise when we are working. If we get the noise level down to 1 we all get a merit!

Have a look at this video if you would like to learn more about noise pollution.
